On Saturday April 10, at about 6:45 p.m. officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department were dispatched to Riverside County Regional Medical Center in regarding possible child abuse.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 2-year-old boy had been brought into the hospital suffering from a serious head injury. The child’s condition is grave and he is not expected to survive.

The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit was contacted and assumed the investigation with assistance from investigators from the Moreno Valley Police Department.

The investigation revealed the injuries to the child were inflicted by his father. The father, Alexandro Baeza, 27, was arrested and booked for child abuse.
