Dad charged with child abuse after beating 6-year-old child for not brushing teeth (Cape Coral, Florida)

Dad ALBERT SOLOMON GRIFFIN has been arrested on child abuse charges after he beat his 6-year-old child with a belt, leaving large bruises over most of the child's boy. According to the STEPMOTHER, this was in retaliation for...drumroll...the child lying about brushing his or her teeth. Okaaay. Let me get this straight. This child was beaten for lack of dental hygiene? What a bunch of parental @$$wipes.

And where is this child's mother? Is she alive? If not, does this idiot of a father have custody, visitation, or what? Was this child in this father's home, vulnerable to this idiot's rages on dental issues, because a judge ordered this child into this father's home? If so, who was the judge responsible for this outrage? Reporters need to start doing their jobs and reporting the context of these crimes.

Cape Coral man charged with child abuse after police say he beat child with belt

9:31 A.M. — Cape Coral police have arrested the father of a 6-year-old child after he inflicted large bruises over most of the child’s body with his belt.

Albert Solomon Griffin, 32, was charged with child abuse for striking the child numerous times when the child lied about teeth brushing.

On Saturday, officers were contacted by the Department of Children and Families concerning a possible child abuse case.

Detective Brice Bearman went to the home and spoke to the child’s stepmother.

The stepmother told the detective that the child received a spanking earlier in the week after the youngster lied and said “yes” when asked about whether or not the child’s teeth had been brushed.

Griffin removed his belt and struck the child numerous times causing large bruising on the legs, upper thighs, buttocks, both arms and forearms, and the torso and back areas.

Based on the information and evidence, Detective Bearman found probable cause existed to charge Griffin with child abuse.

Griffin was arrested Sunday night, booked and transported to Lee County Jail.
