Dad arrested for abusing 9-year-old son over weekend (Hannibal, Missouri)

Dad STEVEN R. TREASTER has been arrested for felony child abuse, apparently for beating his 9-year-old son on the legs. The injuries took place during the weekend. During weekend visitation? It's not spelled out, but seems likely. No mention of a mother in the home.

Hannibal, MO — A Hannibal man has been accused abusing his son.

Forty-one-year-old Steven R. Treaster was arrested for felony child abuse.

Officers responded to a report in the 400 block of Washington at 2:33 p.m. Monday. They were met there by a representative of the Missouri Division of Family Services, who had gotten a call about the alleged abuse.

Reports indicated a nine-year-old boy had bruises on his legs that were inflicted by his father over the weekend. Officers located Treaster in the 200 block of South Ninth, where he was taken into custody without incident.
