CEDAR CITY - An infant was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City after suffering traumatic injuries during a child abuse incident, Saturday, said Cedar City Police Sgt. JR Robinson on Monday.
Robinson said the infant's grandmother brought the baby to Valley View Medical Center and the hospital then contacted police.
"The prognosis is not good," Robinson said. "It's a sad deal all the way around."
The infant's father, Andy Roy Gorecki, 25, 465 N. 800 West, of Cedar City, was arrested Saturday after police received the call and conducted an initial investigation, Robinson said.
Gorecki was booked into Iron County Jail on $50,000 bail for a child abuse charge, a second-degree felony. Robinson said the investigation is ongoing.
