WORCESTER — A Worcester man accused of beating his 7-year-old son to death on Father’s Day has been indicted on a murder charge.
Prosecutors on Wednesday said 37-year-old Leslie Schuler was indicted by a grand jury on 10 charges, including murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery on a child.
Schuler, who has been held without bail since pleading not guilty in district court, is scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court on Dec. 23.
Prosecutors allege Schuler beat the boy on June 21 using a belt, slammed his against the wall, and struck him in the stomach. The child was taken to the hospital badly bruised and unresponsive the next day, and died June 23.
Schuler’s girlfriend is charged with being an accessory in the case.
