A Ft. Campbell soldier was arrested Wednesday and charged with abusing his 5-year-old stepdaughter by hog tying her with duct tape.

Daniel Stirling II, 25, who gave a 64 Durrett Drive address, was charged with one count of aggravated child abuse. He was booked in the Montgomery County Jail on a $50,000 bond and bonded out the same day.

Stirling is listed as an E-4 in the US Army.

According to an arrest warrant signed by Clarksville Police Detective Ginger Fleisher, between June 9 and June 14, the mother of the child said she saw Stirling duct tape the child’s hands and feet together in a manner she described as “hog tied," the warrant said.

Stirling is also accused of putting duct tape around the little girls’ mouth and head and pushing her into her room.

Stirling allegedly admitted to duct taping the girl, but said he did it to keep her from biting herself, the warrant said.

Stirling is set to have a General Session trial on July 15 at 10:30 a.m.
