Dad, son commit violent robberies (Cleveland, Ohio)
Is the problem "father absence"? Or the "presence" of fathers like JOSEPH HUBER in the lives of their children? In this case, dear dad involved the son in the robbery of an elderly man who was sliced up around the neck and back. And that was just the start of it.

Cuyahoga County Jail Austin Teter CLEVELAND — Joseph Huber, 40, and his son, Austin Teter, 18, both of Cleveland, were arraigned Monday on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, kidnapping, theft and felonious assault. Huber's bond was set at $100,000. Teter's was set at $50,000.
Prosecutors say the two are responsible for multiple violent robberies. According to police and prosecutors:
The father and son, wearing masks, broke into an 87-year-old man's West 22nd Street house Feb. 24. They demanded money. He gave them $75, but they sliced his neck and back, before fleeing in his car.
Two days later, Teter and another man approached a couple getting out of their car near Daisy Avenue and West 25th Street. The woman was grabbed in a choke hold. The man was threatened with a hatchet. The robbers demanded the keys to the victims' car and pushed the woman to the ground. When the man went to help her, one of the robbers slashed his arm with a hatchet. The robbers took off in the couple's car.
The following day, Feb. 27, a 37-year-old woman parked at the pharmacy at 2323 Broadview Road and left her 16-year-old son in the running car. Huber and Teter entered the car from opposite sides, asked for spare change, then grabbed the teen by the throat and choked him. They pulled him out of the car and he fell to the pavement. Police found the car the next day, near West 18th Street.
Huber, Teter and Derrick Jones,19, of Maple Heights, were found guilty of robbing a pizza deliveryman Feb. 27, stealing his car and holding him hostage. The 24-year-old deliveryman went to a house in the 3800 block of West 23rd Street, where Teter was sitting on the porch. Teter made the victim get on his knees and put a knife to his throat. Huber and Jones arrived and forced the victim into his own car. They drove him around, while holding a knife to his throat, and demanded money. They threatened to kill him.
After the victim emptied his pockets, Teter said to Huber, "how much money did you get dad?" prosecutor's spokesman Ryan Miday said. Father and son drove the victim to an automated teller machine and forced him to withdraw $260. They continued to drive around, then forced the victim to take off his clothes. They drove to Harvard Avenue and Jennings Road and pushed him out of the car. He rolled down a hill, then ran to Cleats Bar to call police.
Huber was convicted by a jury of aggravated robbery, kidnapping, and attempted felonious assault. Huber will be sentenced when the other cases are decided. Teter pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and kidnapping and faced 20 years in prison. He was sentenced in July 15 to four years in prison. Jones pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and kidnapping and faces a maximum 20 years in prison.
