Lafayette dad held in alleged abuse of 2-month-old son

A 27-year-old man has been arrested for investigation of child abuse by Lafayette police.
Lafayette police identified the man as Benjamin Koller.

Koller and Jennifer Schmidt, who are the child's father and mother, brought their two-month-old son to Avista Hospital on Tuesday, according to Commander Mark Battersby, department spokesman.

The baby was non-responsive and was transferred to Children's Hospital.

At the hospital it was discovered the baby had a fractured skull, multiple bruises and bite marks.
The child is in intensive care in critical condition.

Koller is being held on a $1 million bond.

He is being investigated for child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury
