Dad/boyfriend arrested for murdering 8-year-old boy (Indianapolis, Indiana)

For what it's worth, Dad JOSHUA GERMANY was aiming for Mom when he fatally shot her 8-year-old son. Dad also has a biological child with the mom--for those who think that's important to know. That's why I don't make much distinction between biological fathers and boyfriends/stepdads who are father surrogates; in the real world, the labels are all mixed up. Not surprisingly, Dad has a history of domestic violence.

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man who police said fatally shot an 8-year-old boy while trying to get at the boy's mother last week was charged Monday with murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Joshua Germany, 27, was arrested Wednesday in the shooting in the 4300 block of North Whittfield Street.

Prosecutors said Germany went to the home of his former girlfriend, Deneen Williams, earlier in the day and threatened to "spray everybody" before he returned with a gun to carry out the act.
Police said Germany fired several shots into the apartment, hitting Jeremiah Williams in the head. He died the next morning. Namar Taylor, 18, was also shot, but he wasn't seriously injured.

There were four children and two adults in the apartment at the time, and investigators said Germany fired indiscriminately, but his intended target was the boy's mother.

Germany and Deneen Williams have a child together, but Germany is not related to the boy who died.

Court documents detailed years of domestic incidents involving Germany and Deneen Williams.

He was convicted of domestic battery in 2003.

A memorial service is set for Jeremiah Williams from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church on Keystone Way. Visitation was set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the funeral scheduled for 11 a.m.
