HYDERABAD: A 55-year-old man was beaten to death by his son after he allegedly molested his sister at Nellore town of Andhra Pradesh, police said on Wednesday.

Imran (20) took the drastic step after his father Mohd Sheikh Abdullah, a cook with a catering service, misbehaved and outraged the modesty of his elder daughter last night when she was alone at home, an investigating officer said.

"When Imran was told about the incident by his 26-year-old sister, he turned wild and beat up Abdullah. He was dragged and pushed on the ground by Imran and in the scuffle Abdullah suffered head injuries and died instantaneously," Nellore town inspector of police P Veeranjanaya Reddy said.

Imran who was apprehended on Wednesday, allegedly confessed to the police about the incident, during interrogation. Police said Abdullah after reportedly watching a "pornographic movie" last evening before he allegedly molested his daughter.

"The family members of Abdullah had gone to Chennai while his elder daughter's husband works in Dubai," the police said adding further investigations are on.
