Missouri father, son sentenced for sexual misconduct involving 8-year-old girl

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — A 47-year-old central Missouri man has been sentenced to three years in prison for sexual misconduct involving an 8-year-old girl his wife was babysitting.

Kevin Boaz of Ashland pleaded guilty in May to fondling himself in front of the girl but said the act was unintentional. Under the sentence imposed Monday, he could be released in 90 days under a sex-offender treatment program in prison.

Boaz's 19-year-old son, Adam Boaz of Columbia, was sentenced in May to 10 years in prison on charges involving the same girl. The younger Boaz pleaded guilty to first-degree child molestation, admitting he touched the girl inappropriately about five times.

Kevin Boaz was arrested last year after the girl disclosed what had happened. A police investigation led to charges against the son.
