Daddy facing firearms charges after fight with son over lunch meat (Loudon, Tennessee)

Daddy BARRY THOMAS MYERS hauled out his 12-gauge shot gun over...bologna? The son he was fighting with (over "lunch meat") had fled the home by the time Daddy got out on the front porch and fired off that bad boy, so at least nobody got hurt. But then Daddy's on parole for a meth lab conviction, so I suppose we can't set our expectations too high, can we?

Seriously, do children really need a father when THIS is the father?

LOUDON, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Loudon, Tenn. man is facing federal firearms charges after an altercation with his son that started with an argument over sandwich meat on May 26, according to the Loudon County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say Barry Thomas Myers, 43, of 2242 Davis Ferry Road, got into a fight with his juvenile son before going into a back room of their home to get a shotgun. That's when the son's brother screamed that Myers had a gun.

"One of the son's (sic) fled the residence and Mr. Meyer's (sic) came out on the porch and fired one round from a 12 gauge shotgun," according to a news release from the Loudon County Sheriff's Office.

It's not clear whether the shot was aimed at anyone.

Investigators learned that Myers was on parole after a 2008 meth lab conviction, and he was arrested on July 13 by deputies and members of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
