Dad assaults mom, injures son; takes off with son (Duncan, Oklahoma)

Dad JACOBO CASTRO-PARDO is accused of assaulting the mother of his two-year-old son and causing the son to fall and hurt his head. Then Dad took off with the kid. The paternal grandparents later took the child to the emergency room, where he was reunited with Mom. Still, Dad wasn't ready to let go of his control, because he started a disturbance in the emergency room about getting his son back. He was then arrested.

Note how this slick Dad tried to tell 911 that the call the wife had made was an accident.

DUNCAN — What started with a seemingly accidental 911 call ended with the arrest of Jacobo Castro-Pardo, a 26-year-old Duncan man charged with felony domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.

According to the affidavit filed by Master Officer Christopher Perkins with the Duncan Police Department, Perkins and Officer Keith Stewart were dispatched to a Duncan residence after the report of a 911 hang-up. Dispatch advised that phone contact was later made with a male subject who said that “everything was all right,” and a child must have been playing with the phone.

While Perkins was en route to the residence, dispatch advised that a woman had called back and said that a man, identified as Castro-Pardo, had taken her son and left in a green Ford Expedition.

Upon the officers’ arrival at the residence, the woman advised that Castro-Pardo, her live-in boyfriend and father of her 2-year-old son, struck her and then took their child and left.

According to the affidavit, the victim had marks on her back, neck and arms and was transported by ambulance to Duncan Regional Hospital for her injuries. During this time, Officer Steve Biffle located the child at the home of Castro-Pardo’s parents.

The child was taken to the emergency room by the paternal grandparents, where he was reunited with his mother. Stewart advised Perkins that the child had sustained a minor head injury and cut, and the woman advised these injuries were sustained when the child fell while Castro-Pardo was striking her.

Castro-Pardo later began to cause a disturbance at the emergency room, and attempted to have the child turned over to him. Stewart, Biffle and Perkins arrived at the hospital, at which time Perkins placed Castro-Pardo under arrest for domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.

Castro-Pardo was then transported to the Stephens County Jail, where he was booked.

According to the Stephens County district attorney’s office, Castro-Pardo’s arraignment was held Monday, and his next scheduled court date is 9 a.m. Aug. 18. His total bond was set at $6,000, combining the assault charge and a violation of a protective order.

Conviction on the charges could carry a sentence of up to four years, if convicted. Castro-Pardo made bond on Monday and was released.
