RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - A father and son pair have been sentenced to prison terms for the beating death of a man on the Wind River Indian Reservation in September.

U.S. District Judge Alan Johnson in Cheyenne sentenced 46-year-old Rufert Adam Medicine Top and 19-year-old Del Medicine Top on July 6.

The Medicine Tops each pleaded guilty in April to a charge of voluntary manslaughter and aiding and abetting that resulted in the death of 43-year-old Ben Eugene Engavo Sr.

Johnson sentenced the elder Medicine Top to a 10-year prison term and the younger Medicine Top to an 11-year prison term. Each man was also sentenced to three years supervised release and more than $21,000 in restitution payments.

The Medicine Tops were accused of hitting, kicking and clubbing Engavo. Engavo, of Fort Washakie, died at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
