Dad admits killing 2-month-old daughter (Byron, Minnesota)

Dad EDWIN HENRY WHITE was frustrated with his 2-month old daughter's crying--so instead of rocking her or feeding her like your average mother might do, he suffocated her to death. Dad has confessed to the crime and to earlier incidences of abuse.

Since June 24, I have found over 10 recent articles on fathers who abuse and/or kill babies and toddlers for crying (this one is #11, and that's assuming I labeled them all).

Man Admits to Killing Daughter

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A 2-month old baby girl was found dead in her Byron home back in May.
Today, her father appeared in court, and is now charged with her murder.

It was in their house on the 800 block of 2nd Avenue NE in Byron, where police say 25-year old Edwin White pressed his baby's face down on a pillow, until she suffocated.

The infant, Carlee White, was pronounced dead at St Mary's hospital on May 15th.

Investigators believed the death was suspicious, and it was confirmed earlier this month when Carlee's father walked into the law enforcement office and confessed to the crime. "Edwin Henry White admitted to suffocating Carlee...out of frustration in dealing with the child," says Olmsted County Sheriff Sergeant Scott Behrns.

According to the criminal complaint, White said he was trying to get Carlee to stop crying.
He said placed a hand over the back of her head, pressing her head down into the pillow until her breathing was labored.

"He also admitted to previous incidence of abuse in dealing with the infant," says Behrns.

The autopsy report also showed Carlee had recent and older injuries, including trauma to her eyes, ribs, jaw, chest and head.

Sgt. Berhns would not comment on how long the abuse could’ve been going on, and says the investigation is still on-going.

"Even though this case is not concluded, this is a big step in taking care of what happened to Carlee," he said.

Family members were not in court today, but White's defense attorney says Carlee's mother would allow him back home if he decides to post bail.

His conditional bail is set at 125-thousand dollars.

White's next court appearance is scheduled for July 23rd.
