Dad arrested for assaulting, choking 12-year-old son, threatening him with knife (Colorado Springs, Colorado)
Odd little article. Is PHILLIP PATTERSON a custodial father? There is no mention of a mother. There is no mention of a live-in girlfriend (or boyfriend for that matter). Just an "adult roommate." What 55-year-old guy has a "roommate"? Where is this boy's mother while Dad's busy flipping out with a knife? Why does a dude this crazy have access to a child? Lots of unanswered questions....

911 Call Leads To Child Abuse Suspect Arrest

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A 911 call led to the arrest of a child abuse suspect and possibly saved the victim's life.
Dispatch received a call from a home in the 2400 block of N. Cascade around 9:15 p.m Monday. The call was lost and reconnected several times. Dispatch could hear voices in the background that indicated a disturbance was occurring, possibly with a knife.
Officers arrived at the home and found that a 12-year-old boy had been assaulted, choked, and threatened with a knife. Police arrested 55-year-old Phillip Patterson, the boy's father, for Felony Child Abuse and Felony Menacing. Police say that Patterson also threatened an adult roommate with the knife.
Police say the boy was taken to Memorial Hospital and had serious injuries that could have been potentially life-threatening.
