Dad charged with injuring 3-month-old son for crying (Kissimmee, Florida)
It's another typical shaken baby story. Dad MATTHEW COLEMAN got "frustrated" because the baby was crying, so he shook him and threw him on the bed. The baby developed an apparent brain injury and stopped breathing. He is hospitalized in critical condition.
If you go through Dastardly Dads, you'll find hundreds of stories that basically repeat the outline above. Seems to me that the fathers who are truly suited to infant care are fairly rare.

KISSIMMEE — Matthew Coleman's tiny son remained in critical condition at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children on Thursday, a day after being shaken by his father, according to police.
The three-month-old infant was not breathing and suffering from an apparent brain injury when Kissimmee firefighters responded shortly after noon on Wednesday to the family home on Grand Cayman Court, police records state.
Coleman, 21, told detectives he became frustrated when his son would not stop crying and that he had shaken and thrown him on a bed, Capt. James Napier wrote.
After stepping outside to smoke a cigarette, Coleman said he returned to the bedroom and discovered the child was not breathing, Napier wrote.
The child was airlifted to the Orlando hospital that treats seriously injured children. Coleman remains held without bail in the Osceola County Jail on charges of aggravated child abuse and domestic violence.
