Warrant issued for dad in custody dispute; pulls gun on ex-GF's male friend (Lake Forest, California)

Can anybody STILL think a violent abuser can handle child visitation?

Case in point: Dad DANIEL CHOMINA. Dad was dropping off the 3-year-old daughter at Mom's, and flipped out when he saw a male friend there. So he forces his way in, pulls out a gun, and hits the guy with it. Also threatens to shoot him. The men start fighting. The mom and daughter have locked themselves in the bedroom. While Mom is calling 911, Dad busts in, grabs the girl, and takes off. Later, the parents arrange a different drop-off place.

Do children really need this so they can have "two parents"? Or do they need stability? I vote for the latter.

LAKE FOREST – An arrest warrant has been issued for a man who allegedly pointed a gun and hit a man in the head with it while he was dropping off his daughter in a custody exchange.

Authorities said 28-year-old Daniel Chomina forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's apartment at the 26000 block of Normandale Drive Monday and threatened to shoot her male friend, who was inside, with a silver handgun. Chomina allegedly hit the man in the head with the gun and then fought with him while his ex-girlfriend and daughter locked themselves in a bedroom.

Chomina, of Garden Grove, should be considered armed and dangerous, said Lt. Tom Slayton of the Orange County Sheriff's Department. The no-bail warrant was issued Monday after the alleged assault.

The incident was reported at 9:45 a.m., after the two parents had agreed to exchange custody of their 3-year-old daughter.

While Chomina's girlfriend called 911, he forced his way into the bedroom and grabbed the girl, authorities said. He took her with him when he left.

Chomina is believed to have driven away in a black 2006 Ford F150 with plate number 7Z54483 with a "BFD" sticker in the rear window.

The two parents talked over the phone after the altercation and Chomina agreed to drop off the girl in a restaurant that is owned by his family in Anaheim, where the girl's grandmother would look after, authorities said.

Sheriff officials asked officers with the Anaheim Police Department to respond to the restaurant located near Orangewood Avenue and Euclid Street. When officers arrived, the girl had already been dropped off with her grandmother, said Sgt. Rick Martinez of the Anaheim Police Department. Chomina had already left.

Chomina did not threaten the girl, but authorities are looking for the 28-year-old man because of the reported assault, Slayton said.

Chomina is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 180 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.
