ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A couple of Albuquerque fathers were in court Saturday to face charges of child abuse.

Loren Baca, 33, is charged with assault and child abuse.

He's accused of hitting his three kids over the head with a cake pan, and then taking his family on a scary, drunken ride to Chuck-E-Cheese.

His frightened wife called police from the restroom.

Officers arrested Baca at the restaurant.

Jorge Puentes-Sanchez, 20, also faces assault and child abuse charges.

The criminal complaint states that he pulled a gun on his wife in front of his two young sons and then pulled the trigger. Fortunately, the chamber was empty.

Both men are out of jail on bond.
