Dad pleads guilty, son convicted of child molestation (Medora, Indiana)

Father RICHARD HOBBS has apparently spent too much "bonding time" with his son. It would be nice if they could go to baseball games together--instead of molesting 14-year-old girls (somebody could start a blog just on father-son incest teams.)

Father Pled Guilty; Son Convicted of Child Molestation

A father and son have been found guilty of molesting a young girl in Jackson County.

In January, Richard Hobbs, 60, of Brownstown and Timothy Hobbs, 41, of Medora were charged by Richard Poynter, Prosecuting Attorney for Jackson County. On May 11th, Richard Hobbs pled guilty to one count of Child Molesting, a class A felony. He was sentenced to 25 years in the Indiana Department of Correction on June 8th.

Timothy Hobbs had a trial by jury, and was convicted after a two day jury trial, which began on July 7th. The 8 man, 4 woman jury panel deliberated approximately 17 minutes, before delivering guilty verdicts on five counts of Child Molesting, all class A felonies.

Chief Deputy Prosecutor Travis, tried the case of State of Indiana v. Timothy Hobbs and further stated, “I am very proud of this young female victim, who was very brave and poised while testifying about her abuse.” Ms. Travis also commended Master Trooper Detectives Graves and Drew for their fine work throughout the investigation.

Timothy Hobbs is scheduled for sentencing on Tuesday, August 4th, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. A class A felony is punishable by 20 to 50 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
