Dad charged with assaulting 5-month-old son (Diamond Point, New York)

Dad JOHN T. O'NEILL has been charted with assaulting his 5-month-old son while in a "domestic dispute" with (read: attack on) his girlfriend.

Father Charged With Assaulting Infant Son

DIAMOND POINT—A 27-year-old Diamond Point man is charged with felony assault after he allegedly injured his five-month-old son during a domestic dispute.

Police said John T. O’Neill III of 229 Diamond Point Rd. and his girlfriend were at an acquaintance’s house on Bear Pond Rd., Thurman on July 3 when they had a verbal altercation. Police said that while they were arguing, O’Neill intentionally tore off his five month old son’s clothes. As a result of the incident, the child was injured and transported to the Glens Falls Hospital by EMS.

O’Neil was charged with second degree assault and arraigned at the Warrensburg Town Court. He was released and scheduled to reappear in Thurman Town Court later this month.

The case was investigated by Inv. Edward Affinito, Inv. Russell Lail and Officer Jeremy Coon of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. 7-8-09
