A man jailed last week and charged with fracturing the leg of his 45-day-old infant faces additional charges for injuries to his daughter’s twin.
Devin Lantz Sylvester, 24, of 198 Green Meadows Drive, was originally arrested Wednesday after deputies allege he fractured the left femur of one of his children. He was charged with felony child abuse, and his bond was raised from $5,000 to $100,000 after his first District Court appearance.
However, the Department of Social Services notified the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday that the twin sibling of the infant had also suffered multiple fractures in the legs and arms that were deemed nonaccidental.
According to a warrant, the second child was found to have healing fractures of the left radius, ulna, tibia and fibula and probable fractures of the right radius, ulna, femur and tibia.
Sylvester was charged with an additional count of felony child abuse and received an additional bond of $150,000. He is being held in the Davidson County Detention Center under a total bond of $250,000. He will appear in Lexington District Court on July 14.
