KISSIMMEE – Bryan Byrd was jailed Friday after a marital fight that ended in him abandoning their two children and a playmate, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.
Byrd, 38, first threw his wife belongings on the front yard of their Granger Avenue home and drove away despite knowing his wife, Tosha, already had left, a report stated.
Still at home were two of his young sons and a two-year-old playmate visiting for the afternoon, the report stated.
The boys then walked about a half-mile with the older 11-year-old son carrying the 2-year-old playmate in his arms to a home where he knew their mother had gone. The older son told deputies he saw his father drive by them without stopping, the report stated.
Police charged Bryan Byrd with child neglect without bodily harm and sent to the Osceola County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. Deputies recommended Tosha Byrd be charged and prosecuted by the state attorney's office with child neglect.
