HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A father has been charged with capital murder after his toddler son was found beaten to death.
According to reports, emergency crews were called to a residence located on City View Place near Benmar around 1:30 p.m. Thursday and found the two-year-old boy severely beaten. Upon questioning the father, evidence lead to his arrest.
Twenty-four Tyrone Jefferson, the father of the toddler was taken into police custody.
As Jefferson was placed in the police squad car, he proclaimed his innocence, stating that he did not beat his young son to death.
The toddler’s mother was at work at the time of the incident. She was visibly shaken after learning that her child had died after being beaten.
Jefferson who faces a capital murder charge was given no bond.
