Teen dad charged with hurting infant
A 17-year-old father was taken into custody and is awaiting charges of intentionally injuring his infant child.
Jayden Z. Hamilton is in custody at Lubbock County Detention Center awaiting charges of “injury to a child” to be filed.
Lubbock sheriff’s deputies said they responded to a call at 19109 CR 2400 in reference to a 2-month-old child not breathing.
Deputies said they administered CPR until University Medical Center Emergency Medical Services arrived.
EMS was able to resuscitate the infant, deputies said.
Officials said the infant was transported to the hospital by Aero Care. While being transported, the baby was discovered to have suffered multiple injuries.
The infant was listed in critical condition.
Hamilton was booked into Lubbock County Detention Center early Thursday morning and remained there as of Thursday night.
