Dad accused of bashing 3-month-old son while Mom was at work (Bellevue, Nebraska)
We have now created a society with virtually no paid maternity leave or social support for new mothers. As a result, most moms must return to paid employment almost immediately, which means that deadbeat daddy thugs are left to "care" for the babies in increasing numbers. Vicious child abuse is the result, as these thugs have no impulse control and no patience for dealing with normal infant crying.
Dad in this case is identified as NICHOLAS BUTERA.

Father Accused Of Child Abuse
Nicholas Butera, 20, of Bellevue is being held in the Sarpy County jail following a bond hearing Tuesday morning.
Butera is charged with felony child abuse after his son was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center Sunday morning with significant head injuries. The three month old was in critical condition with a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain when admitted to the hospital Sunday.
Tuesday morning his condition had improved to fair.
Bellevue Police Capt. David Stukenholtz said, "The child's mother came home from work about seven Sunday morning and Nicholas told her the baby had been dropped. She took him to the Nebraska Medical Center."
Doctors told police the injuries were not consistant with being dropped. Tuesday morning Judge Robert Wester set bond for Nicholas Butera at ten percent of one-hundred-thousand dollars. He also ordered Butera not to have contact with his son.
Butera's preliminary hearing was set for August.
