Police: Dad planned to kill 1-month-old son at daycare center (Gardena, California)

Dad LATRON MCDOWELL was fighting with a women daycare worker (a real hero) when police arrived. He had a butcher knife and a note saying he was going to kill himself and his 10-month-old son. These murder-suicide things just get more numbingly repetitive everyday. What the hell is wrong with these killers? If you're depressed, just take yourself and leave the rest of us alone. But no, you got to make it into a big freaking Daddy Drama and take out your kids (or wife or girlfriend) too. A bunch of controlling @$$wipe prima donnas, that's what they are. Fortunately, this particular @$$wipe was stopped in time, and has been charged with attempted kidnapping, attempted murder, assault, and auto theft.

GARDENA, Calif.—Police say a father carrying a butcher knife and a note declaring he was going to kill himself and his 10-month-old son has been arrested while trying to kidnap the infant at a Gardena daycare center.

Gardena Lt. Steve Prendergast says 20-year-old Latron McDowell was fighting with a female daycare worker when police officers arrived at the in-home child care business on Thursday. Investigators say McDowell ran and officers chased and arrested him.

He was booked for investigation of attempted kidnapping, attempted murder, assault and auto theft.

The lieutenant says McDowell told detectives he stole a car to get to the daycare center and he planned to kill his son, then commit suicide. He had a knife and a murder-suicide note with him.
