Dad, cousin, charged with 1st-degree murder in death of 4-month-old daughter (Peculiar, Missouri)

Two men charged in death of 4-month-old Peculiar girl

Two young men are in jail on $1 million bond each after being charged in the shaking death last month of a 4-month-old Peculiar, Mo., girl. One of the men is the girl’s father.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office today said it conducted a week-long investigation after being contacted by Children’s Mercy Hospital that the infant’s injuries appeared suspicious. She was admitted to the hospital on April 20 and died from the injuries on April 22.

The girl’s father, Moreno Antonio Salinas, 19, of Greenwood, Mo., and his cousin Allen T. Green, 20, of Kansas City have been charged with first degree murder. The charges state the incident that killed her could have happened as early as April 3 and that an autopsy concluded her injuries appeared to come from being shaken.

The pair’s first court appearance is set for Monday.
