Dad sentenced to 10 years in baby's death (Covington, Kentucky)
Dad MATTHEW PYLES has been convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years for the death of his 7-month-old son. The baby died from being violently shaken (note that shaken baby syndrome is more often called abusive head trauma or non-accidental head trauma these days).

COVINGTON, Ky. -- A judge has sentenced a northern Kentucky father to 10 years in prison for death of his infant son.
The Kentucky Inquirer reports Kenton Circuit Judge Martin Sheehan followed a jury's recommendation when he sentenced Matthew Pyles on Monday.
Pyles was convicted in April of manslaughter in the death last year of 7-month-old Gaige Pyles. Prosecutors said the child was shaken.
The newspaper says Pyles will be eligible for parole in about 16 months.
