Custodial dad, grandfather jailed for sexual assault of daughter (Victoria, Australia)

Just disgusting. UNNAMED DAD gained custody of his daughter 9 years ago, then proceeded to sexually assault her. That is if he hadn't been sexually assaulting her before. Seems Grandpa joined in, too. But then it appears Grandpa had molested his own daughter as well, so guess that's no surprise, is it. So now we're told they're really, really sorry. That they feel such remorse.

I say bullsh**. This @$$hat not only sexually abused this little girl, crushing her psychologically in the process, but he also robbed her of her mother. He robbed this mother of her daughter, who might have been able to protect her. What freaking idiot judges collaborated in this crime? Can we see the names? Guess we can't figure this out, since everybody is anonymous. How nice for the system. No accountability--once again.

Was the sexual abuse brought up in a custody battle? I wonder. If so, how much do you want to bet that Mum was labeled as hysterical or an alienating liar?

Father and son jailed for sexual assault

A father and son from central Victoria have been jailed for sexually assaulting family members.

The court heard the 37-year-old son committed incest and indecent acts with his daughter, soon after gaining custody of her nine years ago.

The abuse continued for several years at their home in a small town near Maryborough.

The court was told the man realised he could no longer trust himself, and told his daughter to report the offences.

This morning he was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years' jail, with a minimum of five years.

The man's father also abused his grand daughter and one of his daughters 20 years earlier.

He was sentenced to five years and five months' jail with a minimum of four years.

Both men pleaded guilty and Judge Michael McInerny said they had shown genuine remorse.
