A 12-year-old girl is in the hospital after being shot in the neck. Her father has been charged in connection with the shooting.

MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Sheriff Tom McComas says the girl went through surgery at the hospital Friday night and was moved to recovery.
Doctors say her injuries don't appear to be life threatening.
Neighbors say Riddle fired the gun from inside his house, and the bullets went through the side of a wall and hit his daughter who was standing outside.

UPDATE 5/22/10 @ 1:35 p.m.
MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The father of a 12-year-old girl who was shot in the neck is charged with wanton endangerment.
Cabell County Sheriff Tom McComas tells WSAZ.com that even though the shooting was an accident, Christopher Riddle is being charged.
The law says if someone performs an act with a firearm that causes bodily injury or death, it is considered wanton endangerment. Riddle could face up to five years in prison.
McComas also says the 12-year-old was being taken to the hospital by family members when they saw a fire truck and flagged the truck down. The fire crew gave the little girl first aid until the medical helicopter arrived.
No word yet on how the little girl was shot or her condition.

MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A 12-year-old girl is in the hospital after being shot in the neck.
It happened at around 8:15 p.m. Friday on Dry Ridge Road in Milton.
Dispatchers tell us they still aren't sure if it was accidental.
The girl was flown by Healthnet to a nearby hospital.
So far, there's no word on her condition or exactly what happened.
