Mum of murdered kids wins legal fight against killer husband; he stabbed kids 34 times on FIRST access visit (Buckhaven, Scotland)

I fail to see the "major" legal win here. Despite 27 years of abuse and violence, dad RAB THOMPSON was still awarded visitation (access). On his very FIRST access visit, this scum stabbed to death his adult disabled daughter (25) and son (7). Stabbed them THIRTY-FOUR freaking times. For this act of utter depravity, he gets 17 years in prison.

This "major legal win" is a great compensation for all this? That the mum will get "compensation" from a man in prison who presumably has little to no income? That Mum will get his share of the home when it's sold? The system is coughing up a bit too little a bit too late for this mother.

Hat tip to Annie.

Mother of murdered kids wins legal fight against killer husband
Feb 28 2010 Marion Scott, Sunday Mail

THE mum of two children murdered by their father has landed a major legal win over her killer husband.

June Thomson sued estranged husband Rab for the murder of their son Ryan, seven, and their disabled daughter Michelle, 25.

She is also seeking compensation for the life of abuse she endured during 27 years of marriage.

Last week, Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court granted an arrestment order against evil Rab Thomson, 51.

Thomson is serving at least 17 years for the two murders at the former family home in Muiredge, near Buckhaven, Fife.

June, 48, said: "I hope this case gives abused women the courage to fight through the courts."

She had finally plucked up the bravery to leave Thomson when he stabbed the children 34 times during his first access visit. June's lawyer, Cameron Fyfe, said: "We can now arrest Mr Thomson's share in the proceeds of any sale of the marital home where he murdered the children.

"It will allow us to press ahead with a full action for £100,000 in compensation and damages."

Thomson, who has been moved to Dumfries Prison, has until March 15 to oppose the civil action."
