Dad arrested for assaulting 17-year-old daughter with a deadly weapon (Napa County, California)

Dad is identified as JOSE MANRIQUEZ.

Notice that once again we have mention of an unidentified "relative," but not of the mother.

I'm starting to think this is code for single dad and/or dad with custody/visitation.

Where was this girl's mom?

A man was arrested Thursday evening on Spring Street in Calistoga after he allegedly grabbed his 17-year-old teenager and shoved her to a wall, causing non-life-threatening but visible injuries on her forearms and below her throat, police said.

A Calistoga police officer was driving through a parking lot of an apartment complex on Spring Street on Thursday evening when she heard screams from an apartment. She stopped. A relative then came out to seek help, Chief Mitchell Celaya said.

The officer found the suspect, Jose Manriquez, 47, of Calistoga, apparently intoxicated and carrying keys, with the keys sticking out between his fingers, Celaya said.

Manriquez was booked into the Napa County jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and inflicting injury on a child, police said.
