WATERLOO (KWWL) - A Black Hawk County jury has found Daniel J. Reddout of Cedar Falls guilty of involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment causing death and child endangerment/multiple acts. The charges stem from the death of his 18-month-old son in 2011.

Reddout was accused of killing his 18-month-old son, Kaleb at the Midway Studios, 4117 University Avenue, on April 4, 2011.

Reddout was originally charged with first degree murder, but the seven women and five men on the jury decided to go with a lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter, punishable by up to five years in prison.

The jury also convicted Reddout on two counts of child endangerment, as he was originally charged, each count punishable by up to 50-years in prison.

"We think the jury spent a good deal of time listening, paying attention. We thought they were very involved in the whole process, and we think that the verdict is a fair verdict," said Reddout's attorney Dustin Lies.

Sentencing has not been scheduled, but according to Reddout's attorney, none of the charges carry a mandatory minimum, and Reddout could be eligible for parole at any point.
