Dad is identified as KENNETH ADAMS. Don't you love it, that the murders of children aren't called murders, but something stupid like "child endangerment resulting in death"?

MASON CITY (AP) - A Mason City man has been sentenced to up to 50 years in prison in connection with the death of his 19-month-old son.

The Globe Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/18dN1w7 ) Judge Gregg Rosenbladt sentenced 30-year-old Kenneth Adams on Friday to up to 50 years after his conviction of child endangerment resulting in death.

Adams was arrested after the death of his son, Owen, last fall.

Prosecutors say Adams put the boy face down in a pillow to try to calm him during a temper tantrum, cutting off his breathing.

At the hearing, Adams' wife, Tiffany Adams, stated that, "No amount of time putting him in prison is going to bring my son back."

The judge says Adams' sentence could be reduced for good conduct and credits earned by prison work.
