Preliminary hearing for "head butt" dad continued (Everson, Pennsylvania)
Dad PHILLIP EUGENE SILVERS is charged with aggravated assault and other stuff for abusing his newborn (7-week-old) son. Seems Daddy head butted the baby--among other things--for crying. A lot of these guys are just not suited to babysitting, and I wish we'd stop pushing the myth that they are.

The preliminary hearing for a Fayette County man who is accused of abusing his 7-week-old son has been continued.
Phillip Eugene Silvers, 31, of Everson was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, child endangerment and reckless endangerment.
On Aug. 30, police were contacted by Fayette County Children and Youth Services about a suspected abuse victim being treated at Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville.
The boy's mother, Latosha Silvers, said she returned home Sunday to find Phillip Silvers suctioning blood from the baby's nose.
During a police interview, Silvers admitted to head-butting the baby and causing the nose bleed because the infant would not stop crying; he also admitted to abusing the boy on three other occasions.
Silvers said he head-butted the boy another time, but the infant did not bleed. He also said he twisted his son's legs because he would not stop crying.
He was arraigned and sent to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bond.
Silvers' preliminary hearing at District Judge Dwight Shaner's office has been continued to a date that has yet to be set.
