Dad arrested on child abuse charges; 6-month-old son has skull fracture, broken ribs (Woodruff, North Carolina)
Dad KERRY MARTEZE YOUNG has been arrested for abusing his 6-month-old son. He had apparently been drinking and smoking pot before he allegedly "flipped the baby off the bed while changing his diaper." Sounds dubious to me, since the baby has a fractured skull and three broken ribs. CPS has custody, though it's not clear that the mother had any part in this.

Police say a man seriously injured his baby after smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol.
It happened inside an apartment on Irby Road in Woodruff.
Police say Kerry Marteze Young, 27, and his girlfriend took their 6-month old son to the hospital on Sunday.
Doctors say the baby had a skull fracture, bleeding on the brain and three broken ribs.
Police say Young initially told doctors he dropped the child while giving him a breathing treatment on Friday. They say he and his girlfriend noticed swelling on the baby's head on Sunday.
But police say the father failed a lie detector test on Tuesday and admitted he had been smoking pot and drinking and then flipped the baby off the bed while changing his diaper.
Young is charged with child abuse. He's out of jail on $10,000 bond.
Police say at a family court hearing on Thursday, a judge gave DSS temporary custody of the child. The parents can have supervised visits.
