To the reporter: there was no "ongoing dispute" here. That implies that two people were carrying on a disagreement, and there's really no evidence of that, is there? What we have is a violent family anihilator named DENNIS CARTER, SR. A spree killer who targeted his own family. Would you say that Sharon Tate had a "dispute" with the Manson family? Sounds stupid, yes? So let's get it right. There was no dispute. Just an abusive killer who ignored every attempt his wife made to try to keep the family safe.

Man kills 3 in his family, then himself

HOLDEN, La. - A man shot his estranged wife, son and 2-year-old grandson to death and seriously wounded his pregnant daughter-in-law at their Louisiana home, then killed himself as police tried to pull over his car 20 minutes later, police said.

The woman later gave birth, about three months early, her father said.

The shootings late Saturday appeared to stem from an ongoing dispute between 50-year-old Dennis Carter Sr. and his wife, Donna Carter, who had a restraining order against him, said Perry Rushing, Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office chief of operations, on Sunday.

The father of the pregnant woman, Amber Carter, said Dennis Carter Sr. had abused his estranged wife and recently tried to attack her with a machete.

Dennis Carter Jr., 26, and Masson Carter, 2, were the other victims.
