MONTREAL — The bodies of two people found dead Sunday in a Brossard, Que., hotel have been identified as Albert Pelchat, 46, and his daughter Daphne, 6.

Longueuil police Const. Gaetan Durocher said all possible scenarios, including a murder-suicide, are being investigated.

There were no visible signs of violence on the bodies when they were found on Sunday about 1 p.m. in the hotel room.

Autopsies are to be conducted within the next few days.

Durocher would not confirm reports out Monday that Pelchat was under a court order not to be alone with his daughter.

Pelchat, who lived in Montreal, and his daughter who reportedly lived in St. Hubert with her mother, had checked into the hotel about 2 p.m. on Friday. They were scheduled to check out Sunday, he said.

Brossard is about 25 kilometres southeast of Montreal.
