Dad kills mom in murder-suicide; 14-year-old daughter left to call 911 (Lauren, Mississippi)

Dad GREGORY JACKSON apparently murdered the mother in a murder-suicide. The 14-year-old daughter made the 911 call. (My god, they could practically form an organization for kids who make 911 calls regarding the murder or severe injury of a parent anymore.)

My imaginary message to killers like Jackson: Okay, maybe you don't give crap about yourself. But what right does that give you to take somebody else's life? And what right does that give you to strip your children of their mother and put them in such horrible circumstances as having to call 911 over your disgusting and selfish actions?

But wait, such language doesn't even make sense to killers. It's wah, wah, wah. Dumb cowards. They can only think of themselves.

Laurel police investigating suspected murder-suicide
Man, woman found dead in Flora Ave. home

Laurel police said that the motive of a suspected murder-suicide in the early morning hours Wednesday “appears to be domestic.”

Sgt. Michael Reaves of the Laurel Police Department’s criminal investigation division said officers responded to the scene at 235 Flora Avenue at approximately 4:20 a.m. Wednesday. He noted that a 14-year-old female, a daughter of the victims, made the 911 call of two adults fighting.

When police arrived, two individuals, 52-year-old Gregory Jackson and longtime girlfriend 48-year-old Aneice Grady, were dead from gunshot wounds.

“Both were pronounced at the scene,” Reaves said. “At this time, we’re categorizing it as a murder-suicide. The child was not harmed and was removed to safety.”

Reaves said the bodies have been sent to the State Crime Lab in Jackson for autopsies.

“We’re still in the early stages and collecting evidence,” he said. “We believe they had a dating relationship, but are still looking at a motive. Right now, it appears to be domestic.”

Reaves said the type of weapon used was not being released yet, only calling it a “firearm.” The names of those involved are also being held until all family members have been informed.

Reaves said the incident is an example of the volatility of domestic situations. “They’re one of the more dangerous calls that we answer,” he said.

Hours after the shooting, neighbors still stood in the parking lot of Morning Star Baptist Church, 236 Flora Avenue, looking at the scene across the street. They described the neighborhood as quiet and peaceful.

One neighbor, who didn’t state his name, remembered waking up to the sound of his dog barking around the time of the shooting. When he was woken up again, he said the incident had already occurred and there were cars flooding the parking lot and grounds of the church.

John Hinton, who described himself as a local pastor, said he often offered to cut the grass for the lady who lived in the home. “Yesterday, I talked to her and she said I didn’t need to cut the yard anymore,” he said. “She didn’t know what she was saying then. But, it was a sign that she wasn’t going to be here much longer.”
