Custodial dad to go on trial for daughter's 2003 disappearance/presumed murder (Centennial, Colorado)
I posted on this case on June 25, but it is worth following up on. Custodial father AARON THOMPSON will finally be going to trial for the disappearance/presumed murder of his daughter in 2003. Dad was "custodial" in that he had taken the children from their mother in Michigan. He has a long history of child abuse. The "birth mother" (what an offensive term-she is the mother, PERIOD) is to testify.

CENTENNIAL, Colo. -- Jury selection is scheduled to begin Monday in the trial of Aaron Thompson.
Thompson is charged with 60 felony counts, including child abuse resulting in death and abuse of a corpse, in connection with the 2005 disappearance of his daughter, Aarone, and the alleged beating of his other children.
Thompson reported his daughter missing on Nov. 14, 2005, telling Aurora police that he and 6-year-old Aarone had argued over whether she could have a cookie. He said she stomped upstairs and he later discovered that she was not in the house.
Police investigated and said she may have died as early as 2003. Her body has never been found.
The last known photograph of Aarone was taken at the Grand Canyon in 2002.
Prosecutors said Aarone was undernourished and was beaten and locked in a closet for hours as punishment for wetting herself. An indictment alleged Thompson and his girlfriend, Shely Lowe, concealed her death for two years. Lowe died in May 2006 of heart problems.
Thompson and Lowe told police that eight children lived in their Aurora home but police could only find seven mattresses, seven pairs of gloves, seven toothbrushes in the kids' bathroom, and seven bags of Halloween candy.
Among those scheduled to testify at the trial: other children who were living in the house at the time and Lynette Thompson, Aarone's birth mother.
The trial is expected to last a month.
Thompson faces up to 54 years in prison if convicted of all counts.
