Dad charged in shooting of 10-year-old son (Forest Hill, Texas)

Once again, the media trivializes and misrepresents the crimes of a violent father as just a "domestic dispute."

Read carefully. There was no "dispute" (which implies two people in disagreement). Nor was there any "mutual" conflict here. The mother was trying to AVOID conflict by getting herself and the children away from the drunk, enraged daddy. That's when he shot at the car and wounded his son.

This was a unilateral ASSAULT, not a "dispute"--domestic or otherwise. But the fathers rights people have brainwashed the media into seeing everything through the same distorting lens.

Dad is identified as BYRON NESBITT.

FOREST HILL, Texas — A North Texas man has been charged with aggravated assault after his 10-year-old son was shot in the hip during an Easter morning domestic dispute.

Forest Hill police records show 32-year-old Byron Nesbitt was no longer in custody Tuesday. Police in the Fort Worth suburb on Monday announced the arrest of Nesbitt with bond set at $75,000.

Jail records do not list an attorney for Nesbitt, who also faces an emergency protective order after the shooting.

Police say Nesbitt allegedly was intoxicated early Sunday when he and his wife argued, she called 911 and tried to flee with several children in the family's van.

Nesbitt allegedly shot into the vehicle. The boy was wounded in the hip but authorities say the child should recover.
