Charges against dad may be upgraded to murder after 2-month-old daughter dies (Hartford, Connecticut)

Dad MARCUS ROOKS sounds like a total f***tard nitwit. Screaming at a baby and throwing her.

Notice that Mom was at work while Daddy was having his bullsh** hissy fit. Wonder if he was even employed....

Critically Injured Infant Dies, Charges Against Father May Be Amended

HARTFORD – A 2-month-old girl who was critically injured last week when her father allegedly threw her head first into a bassinet died early Tuesday morning, police said.

The medical examiner's office will perform an autopsy to determine the girl's cause and manner of death. Depending on the results, the state's attorney's office may amend the charges against the father, 32-year-old Marcus Rooks.

Rooks has been charged with first-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor. He was ordered held on $1 million after his arraignment last week.

According to an arrest warrant, Rooks was preparing to take his 2-month-old daughter Adore Daniels to visit his mother on Sunday, April 13 when the baby became fussy.

The baby's mother, Lavasha Outlaw, had left Adore in Rooks' care while she went to work.

Rooks, 32, of Manchester, would later tell Hartford police detectives that he bathed and changed Adore and began talking to her about visiting his mother.

The child began to cry loudly, he told the detectives, according to the warrant for his arrest. He admitted that he lost control of himself and began to yell and swear at the infant, the warrant says, then he picked the baby up from her crib and said, "What the [expletive], you don't want to go see my mom?"

Rooks told the detectives that he talked to the infant like she was an adult, asked her questions and continued to swear at her. Then he then threw her head first into her bassinet, and her head struck the hard bottom, where there were no blankets or cushion to cover it, the warrant says.

The infant was taken to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford on April 14 and remained in critical condition for several days. She was pronounced dead Tuesday at 4 a.m., police said.
