Dad charged with child neglect in death of 14-month-old daughter (Virginia Beach, Virginia)

Something is very fishy here. Granted, there is a very remote chance that this was a freak accident. But the statistical likelihood in very low. Toddlers are resillient creatures. They fall all the time while playing, which result in minor bumps and bruises. But unless this child was "playing" and fell twenty feet, the chances of her receiving a fatal injury are virtually non-existent. So I'm not inclined to believe Dad MARCUS BRANTLEY's cover story. Especially when we know that statistics on fathers, abusive head trauma, and child mortality. But it seems that the authorities--so far--are going to let a killer dad plead guilty to "neglect" and then walk.

By the way, where was this girl's mom? Did a mother live in this home?
