Police arrested a father early this morning in Mansfield and charged him with the murder of his 6-year-old daughter.

Kristopher Griffin, 35, is scheduled to be arraigned today on a murder charge in Taunton District Court. He is accused of killing his daughter, Kaitlynn Griffin, according to a press released issued by the Bristol district attorney’s office.

Mansfield police responded at 4:05 a.m. to the father's home at 93 Chilson Ave. and found the child dead. Police arrested Griffin "shortly after the incident," prosecutors said in the press release without offering any specific details about what happened or how the girl was killed.
More information will be revealed during the arraignment, prosecutors said. Griffin also had a residence at 85 Weir St.

By late morning, 10 to 12 state police investigators were still busy at the house, a yellow, 2 ½ story duplex. Witnesses said that the items removed from the house by officers appeared to include a computer and hard drive.
