Dad accused of choking 13-year-old daughter over church mission trip (Houston, Texas)

The mention of a "roommate" makes me think this probably is a custody/visitation situation. Perhaps dad SEQUOIA LEMON was pissed that his 15-year-old daughter would rather build homes for disadvantaged people over the summer, rather than spend time with his charming self.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A teen told police her father assaulted her during a dispute over her summer plans.

Seqoia Lemon, 41, is charged with injury to a child. According to court documents, on March 31, Lemon's 13-year-old daughter told police that he got mad at her when she told him she wanted to build houses with a team from a church this summer.

The girl told police that Lemon grabbed her and threw her to the ground where he allegedly spit tobacco in her face and choked her. He reportedly stopped the assault and fled when his roommate arrived upon the scene.

No bail has been set in the case.
