Dad jailed for leaving 8-month-old son home alone (Woodstock, Virginia)
Because these news accounts are always so incomplete, we are forced to read between the lines. But given that there was a request for a police wellness check, I can't help but wonder whether this was a custody/visitation situation....

Father jailed for leaving infant
WOODSTOCK -- A 29-year-old man accused of leaving his infant home alone is being held without bond in the Shenandoah County Jail, according to Shenandoah County Sheriff's Lt. Darcy Dellinger.
Deputies were dispatched to 460 Jess Sine Road at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday for a welfare check, Dellinger said.
When they arrived, they learned an 8-month-old baby boy had been left alone in his crib for three hours, he said.
The baby's father, John Ashley Outland, of 460 Jess Sine Road, was charged with child neglect, Dellinger said.
