Custodial dad gets 1-4 years in prison for torturing 7-year-old son (Las Vegas, Nevada)

We posted on this case yesterday, when it was made clear that dad ROB BASSETT was custodial during the time he abused his 7-year-old son. Well, that fact has already been erased, as you can see here. This monster tortured this kid: sexually abused him, destroyed his health, forced him to use/sell meth for him--and all he gets is 1-4 years in prison. The boy is now living with his mother--which, of course, begs the question. If she's safe for him to live with now, who gave this methhead custody to begin with and why? What's the name of the judge who made this brilliant decision?

Vegas boy testifies father forced him to use meth

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada judge refused probation to a Las Vegas man whose 7-year-old son testified he was forced to use methamphetamine.

Clark County District Court Judge Douglas Herndon instead sentenced Rob Bassett to one to four years in prison.

Bassett's son testified Tuesday that his father taught him to use drugs, even lighting a meth pipe for him.

Bassett pleaded guilty in July to one felony count of child abuse and neglect. He says he did drugs in front of his son, but denies forcing the boy to ingest meth.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Wednesday that Bassett and his son both tested positive for meth in 2008.

Bassett's son testified his teeth and lungs are damaged from constant drug use. He also said his father made him sell drugs.
