An 8-year-old boy was found apparently tied to a fence at the Newport Square Apartments in central Colorado Springs Thursday night, according to the Colorado Springs police.
Lt. Brian Ritz, a police spokesman, said a witness reported the boy was lying in the fetal position next to a gate leading to the apartment complex pool, at 3780 Rebecca Lane. His hands and feet were tied and the witness told police that the boy’s father, 42-year-old Hari Gurung had tied him there.
By the time police officers arrived the boy had already been freed. He was taken to Memorial Hospital but no injuries were found. Police then released the boy to his mother.
Gurung was issued a summons for child abuse and false imprisonment, according to Ritz. Both are misdemeanor offenses.
