Dad sentenced to 6 years for sexual assault of teen daughter (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada)

Another misleading headline. It wasn't in his capacity as a soldier that this guy sexually assaulted a teenage girl. This assault didn't take place in an occupied territory during a patrol or even during battle. It took place at home, with his own daughter. So the fact that UNNAMED DAD was a soldier is completely irrelevant. He might as well have been an accountant or a auto mechanic. It was as a FATHER that he had access to this girl, and it was as a FATHER that he abused his parental authority over her. Why is this too hard for the media to undertand? Why is it so hard to call it out as it is? And where is Mom?

A soldier who served as a master corporal at CFB Trenton will spend the next six years behind bars in connection with a string of incest and sex-related offences involving his teenage daughter.
The 36-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to incest, sexual assault, production and possession of child pornography and careless use of a firearm.

The man cannot be named to protect the identity of his daughter. He was arrested last fall.
